Eleven

Today I did a perfect pediatric sedation to clean out some road rash that I was initially very unimpressed with. Once we got her sedated, our OB/Gyn intern rotating with us got to work scrubbing. That hard scraping noise was a tip off that this was more than just dirt in the wound. He got a pair of forceps and delivered a 1 cm sharp edged piece of glass-like coal from her leg. What more could you expect from a little girl growing up in anthracite country?
